But as the stock data is made up of 4 key data points Open (O), High (H), Low (L) and Close (C) not all charts are suitable for presentation of data with multiple parameters and longer time frames. Stock Data is viewed at different time intervals such as day (minutes), months and even years for finding the trading opportunities.

Most commonly used chart types are

  1. Line charts
  2. Bar charts
  3. Candle stick charts

Then there are more sophisticated charts such as Kagi, Heikin Ashi, Renko, point and figure, etc.. which help the traders to identify the opportunities to profit.
